2012.07.15. 00:00KING EDWARD – THE KING OF POTATO

It is Edward Jackson in the picture whom I would like to award with the prize of “The King of Potato”. Edward arrived to us 10 years ago from England and learnt our language as well (it was not an easy thing I think) and established Millburn Ltd. I hope I can meet him soon and ask the origin of his company name. I would like to know if it has anything to do with the favourite drink of the demanding and delicate fans of the whiskey, the Irish Millburn whiskey, which is supposed to be pronounced in the same way as written. But the main point is not that but the fact that Edward has received this nice nick-name for his father was a potato producer in England and the King Edward itself is an iconic and emblematic potato type produced by his father with satisfaction. The different types are changing but this one, as far as I know, the oldest and has been on the market of the tasty potatoes for approximately 110 years.

This type of potato improved by John Buttler Scottish potato farmer in Linkolnshire by 1902 was named after King Edward crowned at that time who established a new age (Edwardian) after Queen Victoria and the Victorian age.

Edward came, saw and won. His company operating an area of approximately 1,000 hectares in Hungary produces corn and potato. Both plants require good soil and it is not a bad idea to save the nutritive, that’s why Edward, who cannot be said to be blear-eyed at all, activates the soil with the help of BactoFil products of soil bacteria. You can see him in the top picture with potato handled with BactoFil in one hand and handled with simple artificial fertilizer in the other. We are sure, you can differentiate them. The next top picture helps if necessary. I think no more explanation is required. It is the effect of BactoFil for the potato.

The difference can be seen in the potato field clearly as well. It is a very typical effect of BactoFil. The planting was on 27th and 28th March that’s why the BactoFil version having cool-resistant bacteria was very useful. The type of potato is not King Edward but Amorosa being the best of all of nowadays.

There is one more picture about Edward and his corn planted on 20th April in the field handled with BactoFil. The picture was taken in the middle of June when the other corns planted in the inactivated field grew approximately up to the bottom of the field of “BactoFil technology”.
